The implementation of the foremost rules of Business took place after the commencement of the Azad Government for the state of Jammu and Kashmir in the year 1950 and dated as 28 December. The beautiful and attractive states of Jammu and Kashmir were equipped by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission as per these rules. Mr. Ghulam Muhayyudin who is the chief advisor of the Kashmir Affairs was appointed as the first chairman of the commission. In the year 1967 the main office of the commission was transferred to Muzaffarabad.
As per the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Act passed in the year 1974(48) Public service was regarded as the constitutional Institute. The clause of 48-Public Service Commission that say that there should be a proper public service commission in the state of Azad Jammu and Kashmir that should have defined number of members among which Chairman shall be considered as the head who is liable to give directions.
As per the Act passed in the year 1968, the functions of the AJKPSC comprises of to conduct, regulate, supervise and monitor the exams for the hiring of the candidates for the civil services of the state of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and all other posts that are clinked with the Government affairs. There are responsible to give sound advice to the president on the relevant matters of recruitment and apart from the recruitment matters they can also suggest the president on other relevant issues as well.
Since inception the commission is commendably functioning and meeting the challenges of selecting the appropriate candidates as per their skills and efforts put in the exams. The state of Jammu and Kashmir is not as developed as compared to the bigger cities of the country. Thereby to appoint skilled people is the only solution to make the state progress. If the leaders are appointed righteously then they will govern the workforce righteously as well and step by step the whole system will be flourished. Students who aim to make Government jobs as their profession should have a commanding grasp on the general knowledge, Pakistan and world politics and should be able to remain connected with the current affairs of the world for passing the test of the commission.
